Art Fun and Computer Stuff

Since I got back from teaching at Art & Soul in Hampton, VA, I’ve been feeling a little lonely and kind of lost. I’ve noticed this happens to me sometimes when I work so hard on a project, or am getting ready for a big teaching or vending event. I’m completely focused on it, and then when it’s over, I don’t know what to do (even though in reality, I have TONS of work to do). This past Saturday evening, I was feeling a little lonely, even though earlier in the day I had gone to my local art car parade with a friend (pictures to come, taken with my little SpongeBob digi cam). I went into my lovely, comforting Art House, and had a great time working in my journal and I also decorated some of my boxes for my stamps sets. The fist one is for my gal pal, Juliana Coles (shhh, don’t tell her, it’s a gift), the other two are mine that I finally got around to arting up. I’ll probably do more to the inside at some point. These are kits that I sell, but you get to art up the box yourself!

As for the computer stuff . . . a week after I got back from teaching, my computer died a sudden death. Luckily I had backed it up before I left town. It was the hard drive. The Apple Store confirmed it. My options were to buy a new computer, or pay to have a new internal hard drive installed. I wasn’t sure what to do. Buying a new mac laptop would be a big chunk of change. But, I wasn’t sure I wanted to sink in about $300 to have a hard drive installed in a 3.5 year-old computer that might have something else go wrong with it soon. I decided (from the suggestion of a friend) to try and install a new hard drive myself. And . . . I DID! I found a great online tutorial that showed me step-by-step what to do. So, for just the cost of a new hard drive (one that was twice the size of my old one), my iBook has been brought back to life. I’m so glad that I backed up before I went away. And, I’m going to regularly back up (and so should you!).

That also means, if you e-mailed me and didn’t hear back . . . well, e-mail me again.
