I got back earlier this week from teaching and vending at The Estes Park Wool Market. I’m playing catch up on everything. So those of you who placed orders right before I left, or while I was gone (or since I got back), your orders will be in the mail in the next few days.
I’ll try to post some pictures and more info on the Estes Park Wool Market later. For now, I wanted to post the journal page I did last night. I did this spread in bed, before going to sleep. For those of you who have read the book Kaleidoscope: Ideas & Projects to Spark Your Creativity by Suzanne Simanaitis, you probably read my article about making art in bed, and know that I LOVE to work in my journal in bed. It was the first time I had an art casualty while working in bed. Somehow I got ink from a stamp pad on the inside of my quilt. I use permanent stamp pads, so it’s there for good. But, considering how much I work in my journal in bed, it’s pretty good that this is the first time anything like that has happened.
Hey, rumor has it that copies of the book 1,000 Artist Journal Pages: Personal Pages and Inspirations by Dawn DeVries Sokol have been sent out to the contributing artists. Hopefully my copy is waiting for me at the post office! I’m excited to see it. Another book that my visual journal pages are in is also due out very soon: True Vision: Authentic Art Journaling by L.K. Ludwig. I can’t wait to see that one either!

Traci,
You will be VERY happy with your art in both books. They ROCK!!!! Probably the two BEST books I bought in 2008
(well, those books and the new Lynda Barry book…and LULU…)
Actually, the contributors aren’t receiving comp copies but do get a discount on copies…I will send you the forms…
Hi Dawn,
After I posted this, one of the other artists told me she had received an e-mail from you saying we weren’t getting comp copies. I hadn’t received the e-mail, so I e-mailed you about it–but maybe you didn’t get my e-mail. yes, please send me the info. I’m excited to see the book. I’ve heard great things about it.
