I now carry mounting foam and double-stick cushion for mounting rubber stamps! Wee haw! I know people aren’t crazy about mounting rubber stamps, and not everyone has power tools to cut wooden blocks. And since rubber stamp mounting leads to rubber stamp using, I thought both of these things would make it easier, and take the pain away. (Yeah, I heard your groans when you would look at my unmounted rubber stamps, and I knew you were thinking “I want them so, but I so don’t want to mount them!”)The mounting foam is super easy to use, and it’s even easier after watching my little tutorial I made last night.

Here’s the scoop. The 1/2″ thick foam has adhesive on one side, making it super simple to mount your rubber stamps on it. It’s great for mounting any size rubber stamp, and it’s easy to cut using an exacto knife. No cushion is needed when using this foam, but with large, detailed stamps, I like to use cushion with it. If you want to have a thicker mount (handle), cut two pieces the same size and attach one to the other, making it 1″ thick. The foam comes in 3 sizes: 8″ x 10″, 5″ x 8″, and 4″ x 5″.
Double stick cushion serves two purposes: It makes it easy to attach a rubber stamp to whatever you are mounting it on; and it also gives the stamp some cushion, which gives you a better impression, especially for detailed or large stamps. It is black, 1/8th inch thick and has super sticky adhesive on both sides. You can cut it with scissors or an exacto knife. Double-stick Cushion can be used when mounting stamps to wooden blocks, acrylic blocks, foam core, or even to my mounting foam. (It isn’t necessary to use with the mounting foam, but for large or detailed stamps, I think it helps give a better impression.) It comes in 3 sizes: 9″ x 11″, 5-1/2″ x 9″, 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.

I love what u do! I am starting to cut rubber stamps with my son… he loves it!
Do you ever teach in Florida or New England?
This is awesome! I bought some of your stamps and sadly they have been sitting in the drawer. Thanks for the tip!
Jodi: I don’t have anything scheduled in Florida or New England, but I’ll teach if there are enough people to make it worth my while. I’ve got a pretty busy schedule though this coming year.
Adrienne: I’m glad this helped! When I “found” this mounting foam, I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and wondered how I never knew about it before. I’d seen some stamps on it, but didn’t know what it was or where to get it.
Where can I buy double sided sticky rubber stamp cushion to make my own mounts for custom stamps? http://www.insigniah.com — Thanks
Richard: I've got links in the post for both my web site & etsy shop where I sell these. They are at the end of the post.
Traci I sent you an order. Thanks. Richard
