Spring has finally come to Lawrence, KS. The crocuses are peaking their heads out of the leaves left from last fall . . . .

and so are the creepy dolls in my yard. This doll seems to have lost her hair over the winter, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
Barbie use to have a little baby near her. But I don’t see it anymore. Maybe the baby will pop up somewhere else in the yard and be bigger this year. Barbie’s face is starting to look like she needs some good skin-bleaching cream. Those age spots are starting to take over. But ever the optimist, she still looks really happy. I love how her hair has become one with my yard.

Here’s a journal page I did last night. As I’m working on a book I’m writing, I’m kind of using my journal as scrap paper to test things on. Makes for kind of a crazy background. Sometimes I’ll paint over it to tie it all together, but this time I just left it, and added to it, because it went with the way I’ve been feeling lately. Luckily it has warmed up and it’s sunny out!

Ooh I love the dolls you have growing or decaying I guess in your yard! We only have dog toys out there.
The pages are great…I am waiting with much enthusiasm for your book to be ready.
Thanks magicalmuse! Maybe you should use creepy dolls as dog toys, and then you WILL have them in your yard!
mwquilt-my book won’t be out until next spring, but that will give you plenty of time to build up your enthusiasm!
