I love making books, and these are my newest ones. They are all made from vintage book covers, and the inside pages are a mixture from vintage books, watercolor paper, card stock, kraft paper, brown paper sacks, and the original pages from the books. You can either work on the pages as is, letting the original printing on those pages add to the visual texture, or apply a thin layer of gesso first. However you decide to use it, it’s a perfect size to slip into your bag for journaling, collaging, sketching or writing wherever you are. Since it it spiral bound, it opens flat making it easy to work in. This is perfect for any artist or creative person.
I tore most of the pages to size by hand, giving it a nice deckled edge. And, I purposely made the pages the same size or slightly larger than the cover because I love the effect of the pages sticking out. I think it adds to the vintage / repurposed charm.
I call the squarish ones Mandala Journals because they’re squarish, making it perfect for drawing or creating mandalas in them. I made one for myself that I love, and thought that other artists might like them as well!
I’ll be taking these with me to Art & Soul next week in Virginia where I’m teaching six workshops and vending, and I’ll hopefully sell them there. So, if you’d like one, get it now! I leave Wednesday! Don’t wait! Also, it’s not too late to sign up for my workshops at Art & Soul.

These look so cool! I'll see you at Art & Soul…just signed up for the carving stamps class last night!
