Just a reminder that tomorrow is my Holiday Open House in my Art House! And a few photos to tempt you with some of my new things.
When: Saturday, December 12, 1-4pm
Where: Bonkers Art House, 1313 Elmwood St, Lawrence, KS, 66044. My Art House is in the backyard, but you have to get to it from the front. Go through the gate and across the porch on the south side and you’ll see it! E-mail me if you need directions. You can also call. My e-mail and phone number are on the graphic above. Click on it if you’re getting old like me and need it to be bigger to actually read it!
It’s supposed to be warmer tomorrow (YAY!). But maybe rainy . . . But come on over and check out the goods! I haven’t made any spinning batts in many years, but I fired up my Patrick Green SuperCard carding machine and made some yesterday (and maybe more today). I made my mulligan stew batts which are a combination of different hand-dyed fibers with different colors and textures. Each batt is one of a kind! When spun up, you’ll get a novelty yarn without having to do anything fancy. I also have some new novelty yarn that I’ve dyed up for you. Here are some pics to tease you.
I also have milk and soy silk spinning fiber! Both are really interesting, and feel like silk! The milk fiber is made from actual cow’s milk. It’s supposed to be really good on the skin, and took the dye really well when I dyed it. The soy silk is made from the waste from tofu factories! You can spin either of the fibers by themselves or blend them with other fibers to make an exotic blend.
Besides the hand-dyed spinning fibers and yarns, I also have my original unmounted rubber stamps, some handmade books, my quirky handmade buttons and pocket mirrors, and other things! Hope to see you! If you can’t make it, you can shop from my web site or from my etsy shops. I have 2 etsy shops: http://www.BonkersFiber.etsy.com has my spinning fibers and yarns, and http://www.TraciBunkers.etsy.com has my other items such as my rubber stamps, books, journal postcards, buttons, ponytail dreadlocks. Keep in mind though that the new items won’t be in any of my online shops for awhile though because I’ll have to photograph them and whatnot . . . and my bonkersfiber etsy shop is pretty meager right now . . . so keep checking back if the items aren’t there when you look.
