My 2nd attempt at a double-exposure with my pogo printer. I think this is my favorite self-portrait evah!! I took the self-portrait with my Nikon Coolpix L110; and the flowers, taken with a Samsug "Mantra", were shot on a fresh grave across the street in the cemetery.
My first double exposure with my pogo printer! I was so excited as it oh-so-slowly came out, that I almost wet my pants! I think I did wet them with the self-portrait double-exposure. I just ran the print through the printer twice. Both pics were taken with my Samsung “Mantra” camera phone (Virgin Mobile). This phone won’t print directly to the printer, so I have to send the files to my computer, then to the printer.
How lucky that Mary was almost centered withing Mary! The picture with the 2 small statues was taken through the glass door of a little mausoleum in the cemetery across from my house. The bigger Mary statue is in the same cemetery.
Much thanks to Dippold and Hippoyard for their video on manipulating pogo prints: www.vimeo.com/8828331

this is just so impossibly cool! I too have a pogo printer, but never thought it could do this! wow, you are the goddess…
Just remember that the printer takes the paper from the bottom, not the top. So when you are ready for the 2nd printing, take out all of the paper, put the print in face up, then you can put the other papers back in.
I wanted to do more, but I had to make myself stop and get some editing done for a knitting magazine . . .
Extremely cool, Traci! I especially like the Mary one.
oh. my. gosh! I never thought of altering prints with my pogo–it's been sitting in my closet. Thanks for posting this–very cool! Now I have another excuse not to do all things on my to-do list. Actually, I'll just add this to the list so it's 'legit'! xoxo
Traci, I LOVE the POGO double exposures! That photo of you is REALLY cool! I am going to have to try that. I am the one that brought the POGO to your class at Journalfest…remember, the girl that was afraid of the Bind-It-All?
Anyway, love that idea, and will try it myself!
I didn't know I could print directly from my computer…anything special involved with hooking it up to the computer? Will the USB cable work?
Thanks for sharing this…love it!
Roberta
p.s….can't wait till your book comes out…it's in my "wish list"
Roberta, I'm so glad you posted. I couldn't remember who in the class brought the pogo printer, and I thought about posting to the Journalfest group to try to figure it out. I wanted to tell you about it. So here you are! As long as your computer has bluetooth, you can print to the pogo printer. I'm on a mac, and up in the very top menu on the screen, where it has the time and other icons, there is a bluetooth icon. I just went up to it, and went through the process to 'discover" the printer. I might have had to put in a code (in the info with the printer, it said how to do all of this). It was easy, and now when I want to print to it from my computer, I just go up to the bluetooth icon, choose "send file", and chose the picture I want to print.
Did you watch the video I mentioned in the post (and gave the link? It's super cool.
Also, my book is already out! I know some bookstores already have it, but my local Border's is waiting for it. You can order it online also. I'm super psyched about it!
OMG!!!! thank you so much for posting this!!! I love my shiny pink PoGo and use it every day… but never like this, it will really get a work out now!! I've burned it after the print, well heated it with a heat gun and painted over them and sanded them when I did that but now I know how my day will be spent. And I'm with Roberta…how do you print from your computer? thanks, gracias, merci, mahalo, danke!!!!!
Leau: I kind of explained to Roberta how to print from the computer using blue tooth, so see my reply to her. Depending on the kind of computer and operating system, you might have to do it a little differently. Look in your computer's help section for using bluetooth. If your computer doesn't have bluetooth ability, well, then . . . if you have a phone that prints to the printer, you could send send the file to your phone and then print that way.
Traci, thanks for your instructions! I played around with it this morning, and got it to work from my Dell laptop. YAY! This is great, because I have a lot of digital art in my computer that I was hoping to print on little Pogo paper…and it worked! I played around with double exposure printing, and it worked too, and look forward to spending more time experimenting with this fun concept.
Thanks for posting your results, and for taking the time to share this with us. I haven't watched the video yet, but will soon.
Thanks again…oh, and I wore the scarf you made all winter long…literally everywhere…from California to Egypt…and I got SO many compliments on it! It is my favorite
Take care,
Roberta
Thanks Traci for the help..I print from my camera and from my phone both. I don't have bluetooth on my old laptop but I think I have figured out another way. If it works I'll let you know! Loved the video too!
the double exposures are definitely cool. love my little pogo but it has become lost in one of the stacks on my desk. must be karma. i am digging it out now.
You are so smart!!!!
Catherine
so so so cool….im a groupie now..
Are you using Windows 7? I can't get bluetooth to work with my Pogo on my new system, and can't find a fix for it! Let me know what you are using-thanks!
@Melissa: No, I'm on a mac. But there have been times I've had problems, and had to re-pair the pogo to my computer. I just had to do that the other day. Sorry I can't help more!
I wish I could spend a couple of days with you doing trick journal things, that would be very cool. These are wonderful.
