I get these wild hairs to do something, and everything else goes out the window, even though what I’m doing isn’t a priority. But that’s the way it is. I decided my blog was really boring looking, and I wanted the posting area to be bigger. I figured while I was going through the work to widen it, I should just change it all! So that’s what I spent yesterday doing, while dyeing up some spinning fiber. I think I’m done. Thank god for google, because although I’m pretty good with computer stuff, there’s no way I could have figured out how to tweak everything and move everything just how I wanted it without tutorials on the web. All that code, oi! I couldn’t have figured it out on my own.
I might change things some later, but I have to make myself stop for now. Stuff like this is obsessive for me, and I don’t want to stop until I’m done. And then I don’t eat, and the pets don’t eat, and I start getting a little testy because I haven’t gotten up from the computer in hours. So I’m done (for now . . .). Take a look and let me know what you think! I wanted a nice balance between visually pleasing and not too cluttered. I hope I achieved it. The background (that only shows a little on the sides) is the background from one of my journal pages (before I “journaled”).
Now I can do things I should be doing. Like unpacking, dyeing, and getting orders out. And making art! Maybe I’ll go on a little walk about taking some pictures this afternoon.
I guess it’s a little ironic that I gave my blog a face lift so that it would be more visually appealing, yet this post has no visuals. I’ll post some in the next few days of my workshops in Portland, and a little outing I had before I started teaching.
NOTE: Please let me know if you have to scroll sideways to see the columns. And if you do, tell me if you are on a mac or PC and what browser you are using. On my laptop screen I don’t have to, but someone just let me know that they had to scroll to see both columns.

Love it and totally can relate! I gave my blog a facelift, actually went from blogger to WordPress right in the midst of writing my book. I guess I just needed a distraction for a few days. My hubby thought I was nuts, probably right-lol. Anyway, you new look is awesome and totally reflects your work-love it!!
Thanks Pam. I understand about needing a distraction. I think that's why I decided to work on it.
I'm on my droid phone looking at it and it looks great!!!
Looks good, Traci!

I had to scroll right on a PC with Google Chrome. I only had to scroll a little, though, to see the whole column.
Otherwise it looks great, and more readable!
Thanks everyone for looking and giving me input!
I am on a macbook pro running Safari and everything looks great to me. I do not have to scroll but want to mention that for me the background is not tiling or repeating so halfway down it just turns greyish…
Loving the changes!
1. I love that doing art is on your have-to list. I still have art on my want-to list.
2. I have to scroll a little bit to see ALL of the columns. I'm on a PC using Firefox.
3. When it first uploaded it showed the background, but then it reverted to a white background.
4. I love it.
Heather (and everyone else): The background (of the book) should stay stationery. So as you scroll, it should not move. Is it moving for you, and that's why you see grey halfway down?
Robin: I have no idea why the background loaded and then went blank. I don't think that has anything to do on my end, and might have more to do with your computer (but again, I have no idea–you're the first person to mention this happening).
Thanks again everyone!
