The final carving for 30 Days of Carving! I chose a big eraser that I love. I’m going to be sad when I run out of these because they are great to carve. I’ve got them in different sizes and this one is 3″ x 1.5″.
I only did two sketches because when I finished the second one, I knew there was no reason to go any farther.
Even though I didn’t do anything to make things line up when I stamped it repeatedly, they matched up enough to be interesting. Because of the colors of stamp pad and markers that I used, it made a very subtle design. I decided to stamp it again but with black this time, leaving space between the rows. I also chose bright colors to color it in, and left the inner half-circles white. Wow, it looks so different than the first page. Then I drew the stamp with a Pigma Micron pen.
That evening, I was hanging out at my friend’s house, and I drew her boyfriend’s bananas. I hadn’t taken my watercolors with me, so I added the watercolor after I got home. I did the drawing with the PITT Big brush artist pen by Faber-Castell. I also did some shading with a cool pencil that looks like a normal graphite drawing pencil, but it’s water soluble. It’s a Derwent Watersoluble Graphitone pencil, and I got it at my local Michael’s in the art supply section. This is the first time I’ve used water with it, and the effect was awesome.
My next post will have a photo of all of the stamps I did for my 30 Days of Carving. Here are my other posts for this project.

Oh-I am sad the 30 days are over!
Been enjoying this very much.
What an awesome project. I've been so inspired by your carving and sharing. I'll miss my daily dose of Traci, but I suspect you'll have another project up and blogging soon. Thanks!
I am also so sad that the 30 days are over- but how great you shared this journey with us! I've really enjoyed all the posts Traci- even if I didn't always comment I made sure to come see each one
My "Print and Stamp Lab" book is incredible and I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog. Thank you!!
Brava Traci! I so enjoyed this project. I, too, followed along even if I didn't comment on every post. And I've carved up a bunch of erasers and even some stamps on carving material. Great fun! And the contour drawings are a joy as well! Yay!
