January 31st was my travel day back home from being in Los Angeles for the Craft & Hobby Association trade show. My flight home was to stop in Denver, then continue on to Kansas City. But in Denver, the rest of the flight was canceled due to a blizzard in Kansas City (well, in the midwest!), and I was stranded in Denver for 2 days. On top of that, I didn’t have a coat and it was -15. And on top of that, one of my bags was lost. It happened to be the bag with my erasers & carving tool. Luckily I had my sketchbook & watercolors, so I could at least continue with sketching. But my 30 Days of Carving was interrupted due to an “Act of God,” but really because the airline lost my luggage.
These first 2 sketches are my empty dish after my hotel dinner. The next one is my airport water bottle, and my cup of tea.
And the last is my hotel veggie wrap with salsa & chips.
Here are my other posts for this project.

I love this project and I'm really delighted by your decision to carve a second stamp and make a different and equally wonderful stamp out of your "mistake." Your work is so full of energy and freedom. I'm inspired.
Thanks L.A.! "Saving" a botched stamp is usually pretty easy as long as you are open to what the result might be. But the way I see it, if you've messed it up, you have nothing to lose.
