The Beckoning of Lovely

I found out about this little movie from my friend Juliana Coles. Maybe I’m a little overly emotional today, whether it’s from PMS or from getting over a cold, or just because I’m an emotional person, but this lovely little film made me teary-eyed. I just thought it was so wonderful that so many total strangers came together to make something, and they all found out about it from Amy Krouse Rosenthal‘s 2 minute and 45 second sweet home-made film on youtube called “17 things I made today.” She ended it asking people to join her to make a cool 18th thing. Hundreds of people gathered on that simple request, not having any idea what they were going to do. It’s a beautiful thing. Strangers coming together just to make something cool. Pretty simple, but I see it as pretty incredible. It makes me have hope and feel like we really do live in a pretty wonderful place. We need more simple and lovely things in the world, with people coming together to make it happen. It shows it doesn’t take much to make great things happen. As soon as I finished watching the movie, I watched her first clip, then went to her blog to find out how I could participate. I just e-mailed her to be an ambassador of lovely. I like that title. I challenge all of you to participate in her collaboration with the universe. I’m going to. Watch the film and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
