This evening, I worked more on the journal cover that I started last night (or should I say very early this morning). I think I’ve finished the outside. Here’s a detail.
The 2 large circles are joss paper–the yellow ones with the scalloped border. I cut the borders off, and then painted them after gluing them down. The stamps I used tonight are hand-carved, and 2 of them were carved during 30 Days of Carving. And because I’m sure you want to know, the metallic marker is a Kuretake metallic brush marker. I can’t give a link to it, because I can’t find it anywhere on the interwebs. But I bought in January from the Kinokuniya book store when I was in Los Angeles. Well, it looks just like this, but it’s metallic.

Gorgeous cover! I spent most of my day farming discarded books for collage images. Here’s my post: http://artiphytheheart.typepad.com/artiphytheheart/2011/07/progressing-right-along.html

I slapped a bit of paint around for my day 17: http://hhcampbell.blogspot.com/2011/07/30-days-july-17.html
Love the images, they fit so perfectly in the warm sea of color you’ve created for them. Thanks for the info on the metallic brush markers – I enjoy using gold tones when I can for accent and shine.
Today I spent the afternoon/evening doing art with my niece, 3rd grader, check out the fruits of our labor here at my Day 18 post – http://alchemy-artmemories.blogspot.com/
Hi, Traci. I got your email and I’m attempting to post. If this goes through, I will post another comment after this one confirming that it must have been the captcha thing. I use a Gateway pc with Windows Vista (not a Mac). xoxo, Aimeslee
Alright! Yay! It works! No more refreshing.
