Another 30 Days of Get Your Art On!

30 Days of Get Your Art On

I have really loved doing the 30 Days of Carving, Journaling, and Get Your Art on. I knew I wanted to do another one, and the past few weeks I’ve been trying to decide what to have the focus be. I was really leaning toward painting, or drawing, or photography. But I just couldn’t pick one. So, I decided why choose? Why not do another 30 Days of Get Your Art On? So, that’s what I’m doing, starting September 1. Wanna join me? I’ll use the same guidelines for myself as before:

  • I’ll make art every day for 30 days and post what I have done.
  • I don’t have to finish what ever I’m working on that day, I just have to work on something.
  • I have to work for 30 minutes, but can work longer if time permits.
  • It doesn’t matter what I do for the art making, as long as I work on art.
  • I won’t feel guilty for taking the time to work on art and I won’t have to justify why I’m doing it.
  • I don’t have to go into detail in my post about how I did anything or what tools, materials I used (unless I want to).

Make your own guidelines that will work for you, so that you will succeed. This is supposed to be fun & inspiring, so it’s important to set guidelines that are realistic. If they aren’t, you might be setting yourself up for failure.

Grab a button from the right side bar by copying the code. Then paste it in your blog or web site to share the fun. If you’d like your name and web site or blog to be listed on the list of artists joining in, let me know in the comments. I’ll add it to the list as I have time. Tell your friends! The other 3 “30 Days” have been great experiences for me, so I hope you’ll join in, even if you can’t do it every day.

  1. I think I can pull this off again…was such a mammoth effort for me to complete it last time you did it, but it was worth it to my soul.
so I’m happy to be a player, the first for me is tomorrow but I’ll start with you gals as its easier to keep it up that way.

  2. I’d love to join you in this… only caveat is I may not post in my blog every day, but I’ll take a picture every day & post the pictures very few days. Is that okay?

(or maybe I’ll have a blog post each day without saying anything! just a picture of that day’s results…or find somewhere else to post my day’s results…)

  3. Grabbing your button again!! I like being held accountable this way. I will be doing the 30 Days of Lists, but art journaling as well. I am glad we can do anything, because this will mean even applying background will count!!

  4. I really need to do this. I have a studio full of product, that has been sitting here untouch for way too long. Now if I can just get busy. Yes you may use my blog – another thing that has been unloved. I blame it all on Facebook. LOL

  5. Hi Traci, I am new to blogging, new to art community sharing, experienced photographer, and artist and creator at heart. I only have 2 posts on my blog so far and found your challenge a great way to kick start the habit of making art daily and posting regularly. The only thing is that I live in a rural area of the South of Chile and not having electricity limits my computer time a little bit. So, I make the promise to make art daily and to post as much as I can possibly bother my neighbors with electricity to charge my computer. Thanks for a great idea. Oh! And I almost forgot, 2 of my 4 kids, Saskja and Mila ages 8 and 7 will be joining me on this great art adventure. Much love to all from the South part of the world.
