30 Days of Get Your Art On – 10.21.12

Tonight I went to Sketch Tease. It’s like life drawing, only the models are burlesque performers, and there’s music and snacks (and beer) and you can take pictures. It’s similar to Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art school.

The models tonight were Sarah Kunen (with the pink hair) and Bel Ruby. I ended up not staying very long because my back started hurting. I’m not sure if it was the chair I was sitting on or what. But considering the way my neck has been throwing me fits, I didn’t want to chance it. So I went home after an hour.

But I got a few good photos that I had fun playing with in some photo apps once I got home.

I took some action shots of Bel Ruby performing. They are grainy because I zoomed in digitally, but I like the effect.

Here are two of the quick sketches that I did.

It was in an old warehouse (right next to the warehouse where I used to have a studio.). So, it was fairly dark inside, which made it hard for me to see well enough to sketch–not so much my drawing, but what I was drawing. It made me feel old. I felt like I needed my glasses. Maybe if I had been sitting a little closer . . .

This is a new event, but I think it happens monthly. So that will give me another drawing (and photography) opportunity.
