Superwash Sparkle

This is a new blend that I’m very excited about! This spinning fiber is a soft blend of 84% Superwash Merino and 16% Stellina, which is the sparkle. It feels wonderful, it’s not too slick so it’s easy to spin, and you have to love the glitz! The fiber is sparklier than it shows in the photos. I hand-dye the fiber with professional acid dyes that are colorfast and washfast. Superwash means the scales from the wool fibers have been chemically removed so that the fiber won’t felt. That means it’s machine washable and dryable with no felting. Great for kids’ garments or socks since it’s machine washable and dryable! It would also make lovely shawls or light-weight sweaters and is available in many rich colors. Each hank is approx 4 oz of sparkly superwashalicious goodness. Hanks even from the same dye lot will vary because they are hand-dyed.

When spinning superwash fiber, it needs more twist than non-superwash fiber since it’s a little slicker.

  Downtown Carousel is a wide range of purples and pinks with bits of golds and greens. The colors in it reminded me of the colors of the horses on a little coin-operated carousel in my downtown.
