I was able to work in my journal earlier today that I have been, and that was nice. I really liked the boldness and the simplicity of what I did yesterday, and wanted to keep to that. So I worked differently than I usually do where I feel that more is better. I first added the top and bottom borders using some lace and the Copic Airbrush System. I only collaged 2 pictures down that wouldn’t take away from the graphic red circles and left it at that. I didn’t like the self-portrait ending with a harsh line at the top of my head, so I airbrushed the same border along it to soften it some. Then I did my writing around the images. I did the writing with a LePen, but for some reason it seemed to disappear in places. So I wrote back over everything with a Copic Drawing pen, which is a disposable fountain pen. When I finished my writing, I was able to call it done and walk away with out stamping and coloring all over it.
Be sure to check out what Bianca did in her journal. You can see the rest of my posts for this project here.
This one is great… love it! Brought a smile to my face :]
Great composition. Nice touch, applying type around the circles.
Traci, how did you get that textured/crackle look on the red circles?
Lisa: I stamped the circles with a big piece of foam. So the foam + the acrylic paint created the texture.
