Resources to Boost Your Art Career

I’m sure you all think I’ve got my act together since I’ve published two books, have had my artwork published in lots of books and magazines, and have been teaching workshops around the US for a very long time. The truth is, I don’t! But it’s something I’ve definitely been working on, and I’m improving. I recently got a lot of help and “tools” when I took an online workshop called “Get Organized to Run a Successful Art Business” from Alyson Stanfield. I was so impressed with Alyson and what she has to offer, I became an affiliate for her products.*

I first learned about Alyson when I stumbled upon her book I’d Rather Be in the Studio, and bought it. It is such a valuable book, and I learned so much about what I should be doing business-wise as an artist. I highly recommend it! Among other things, it really helped me when I decided to write an artist statement. Then I started following her Art Biz Blog, and started following her on twitter. That’s how I learned about her online workshops.

Artist Conspiracy: Art Biz

She has an ongoing group called The Artist Conspiracy. I’m thinking of joining it. You can subscribe monthly, or pay for a whole year. Each month the focus is on a different topic, and not only do you get the help from Alyson, but the community and support of like-minded artists. Plus, no matter when you join, you have access to all of the past material. As a bonus for taking her last workshop, I can sign up for a free one-month membership to the group to see how I like it. Quite a deal!

Blast Off: A Big Boost for Your Art Career

She’s also got a workshop starting in January that I’m going to take, called Blast Off. It’s on boosting your art career to help take it to the next level. I learned so much from her organization class, I’m excited to see what I learn in this one.

Alyson also has a free weekly Art Marketing Action newsletter you can subscribe to. I am a subscriber, and it always has helpful information.

So, if you feel like you are in a bit of a rut with your artist business, these workshops, book and newsletter should help get you moving along the right track! With the new year coming up, it would be a great time to think about what you want to do with your art career. Please check them out and see if you think they are right for you!

*Since I am an affiliate, I might make a small percentage of any sales on her website when you click on the links here. Please know that as an artist myself, I would only recommend something that I personally like or think is helpful.
