It feels so great to be making art after working on other things for awhile. Some months back, I had gotten into the practice of making art first thing in the morning, for at least an hour. It was great! It set the tone for the rest of my day. Then one thing lead to another, and I was out of the habit, working like crazy on various other projects that were top priority.
This all goes back to my issues of when I get crazy busy, my self-care goes out the window. It needs to be my number one priority and then other things (hopefully!) will fall in to place.
I’m starting to get back to making art before doing other work, and it’s like a breath of fresh air again! Things are still going wrong and problems are still coming up that I have to deal with, but they are easier to deal with when I feel more balanced, and creating art does that for me.
I’m preparing for Final Friday Gallery Crawl tomorrow, so I’ve been working on some new pieces. I have to say, I’m pretty psyched. The first photo shows what I’m working on, and they are all in progress. All of them except the smaller one are 12″ x 12″. This is the first I’ve worked that size, and I really like it. Not too small, not too big . . . just right!
I also got my Epson Stylus Photo R1900 printer replaced, which has put a new creative fire under me. My original one had been clogged and I haven’t been able to use it since about September. Now I’m a printing fool, printing on canvas, and I love the look of that.

The above mixed-media piece is on 3/4″ plywood. I’ve already titled it “Coming Home” because I took the photos that I used in it within a block of my house. And, I took them with my iPod touch. The chair & the statue are printed on canvas. I’ve already done a little more to it since I I took this snapshot.

This piece, may or may not be done. I can’t decide. It’s on a stretched canvas, and the photo is printed on canvas. I love this piece. I really love it. I have it hanging up in my studio so I can decide if it’s done or not. One second I think it is, and the next I think it needs more.
After I finish them, I’ll take photos!
Now for important info.
I moved my site to a new web host yesterday, and for some reason, my shopping cart isn’t working. I can’t even get access to the administration side of it to shut it down. But, if you go to it, it looks like it’s working. That is, until you try to check out. Then you get an error.
I’ve been in the process up switching over to a new shopping cart system, but I wasn’t done adding all of my inventory yet and making little tweaks. But, it works and you can purchase things from it. I have my rubber stamps & mounting supplies up, but that’s about it. I don’t have any of my fibers, yarns, buttons, or henna stencils listed yet. This weekend, I’ll be working like a crazy hamster to get more inventory added, but it takes quite a bit of time and I have about 300 inventory items. In the mean time, if you need something not listed, you can e-mail me.
How do you know if you are in the new or the old (broken) shop? Easy! The old one has “zen” in part of the URL. Also, it looks different than my blog. My new shop looks like my blog (because it is), and the URL is http://www.TraciBunkers.com/shop. There could be some glitches that I need to work out yet, so let me know if you have any problems or questions.
After I get the rest of the inventory listed, I’ll have the option for you to pay by credit card directly on my site again. In the meantime, you can use paypal.

I just love your artwork Traci – the second canvas seems perfect to me; I’d hang it on my wall just as it is and I can’t think of anything that would make it better. So, I’ll watch this space and see if you do ever do anything more to it!
Thanks for so much inspiration, especially at a time when my mojo has gone on holiday without me.

You continue to inspire me! The Flower Piece is my favorite! Have fun tomorrow! Can’t wait to see these pieces finished….but then again, is a piece ever really finished?
